About Therapeutic Massage

Modern day life leaves us prone to many stresses and strains, both physical and emotional, and many people turn to massage to help them combat and manage these tensions. Therapeutic massage is based around traditional Swedish massage which involves a series of techniques including stroking, kneading and friction combined with a variety of additional approaches according to the patients needs. This may involve Indian Head Massage, deep tissue massage which focuses on the deeper layers of muscle, or Aromatherapy which uses essential oils selected for the patient's specific needs.

Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy uses essential oils derived from plants, fruits, flowers, bark, roots or resin which contain powerful natural chemicals which have their individual beneficial properties. Following consultation, the aromatherapist selects the appropriate essential oils according to your needs and mixes with a base massage oil to create a unique blend for your massage. Your aromatherapy massage may be a full body massage or focused on specific areas depending on your individual requirements. The combination of the physical massage and the therapeutic qualities of the essential oils which are inhaled and absorbed through the skin can soothe and revitalise the system, promoting well being.

Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage is a safe, accessible and convenient treatment. It has been practised in India for over 1000 years, traditionally of the head and hair to improve scalp and hair condition. Today it has evolved to incorporate massage techniques of the upper back, shoulders, neck, upper arms and face to provide relief from tension and stress symptoms and induce a state of calm and well being.
